Bentonite is a special kind of clay with special characteristics; it is used in many types of industries but its extraction could be ecologically perturbing. The present study evaluates the mining site, analyzes the environmental impacts, and proposes sustainable management strategies for minimizing negative effects. A restoration plan that ensures a focus on revegetation and site rehabilitation to ensure economic gains with reduced environmental impact is proposed.
