Development of a Digital Twin in the context of Industry 4.0; free solution with GODOT Engine 3.0
(ÉCOLE SUPERIEURE DE TECHNOLOGIES INDUSTRIELLES - ANNABA -, 2020-09) CHIBOUTI Ouafa Hanine; DJEGHABA Messaoud (Co-encadrant)
The emergence of the fourth industrial revolution came with a variety of new concepts and technologies, one of which the Digital Twin, the object of this memory, hence many questions arises about the development of these new technologies and their operating tools. Research has shown that Digital Twin technology is still in its infancy. It should be noted that several IT companies have already committed to developing software to create the Digital Twin. This preliminary study aims to determine how a Digital Twin can be developed with the use of a non-specialized tool. In order to realize a prototype as proof of concept, we relied on a review of the literature on Industry 4.0 and the digital twin especially, for the conception of the system architecture. We used the "GODOT" software, which was originally an open source game engine, for the design, modeling and simulation of the physical system, and the python software for command modeling. The results obtained following the simulation of the system showed the ability of the GODOT software to develop a Digital Twin. On this basis, we can think of its generalization for the development of this activity. It is clear that at this stage more research is needed to further assert this possibility.
